Design Development - Understanding the new home before its built.

I have a series of exercises that guides us through organizing design objectives and decision making to help clients feel comfortable with the direction. One of my main objectives is to assist you in understanding space, as well as architectural and construction terminology. I intend to help you obtain a clear understanding of what the drawings are communicating about your new home to prevent any suprises once construction begins. I want to avoid "I didn't know it was going to look like that!" This is accomplished through different drawing and illustration techniques as well as advanced 3d Visualization technology allowing you to see it before you build it. Some of my previous clients are kind enough to allow us to tour their homes as well to gain a better understanding of space.

Detailed comprehensive construction documents or "blue prints."

Once the design is approved and you are comfortable and clear on what the drawings are conveying about your home, I ad final relevant construction and technical information. This final set of plans is referred to as the construction drawings. These are the materials that are required by construction professionals, neighborhood development committees, banks and building departments. These are vital to accurate cost estimating, construction, and most importantly communication for all involved. 

A quick side note:

On behalf of all my friends in the construction industry, it's important for potential new home owners to know it is highly recommended you have professional scaled drawings prepared in order to acquire a fair and accurate estimate from a construction professional. This is especially critical when considering comparing multiple contractors or builders to carry out the work.
